Lighthouse Event Calendar
september - december 2024

Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place at Lighthouse HQ (513 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington).

Lighthouse events are open to youth in grades 5-12, and new faces are ALWAYS welcome!

September 29th from 4:00-6:00 pm – Corn Maze and Fall Fun

Welcome fall with a trip to Creekside Valley Farm for an afternoon of outdoor fun including a corn maze, petting zoo, pumpkin games, scavenger hunt, and more! Lighthouse will cover the cost of the corn maze, but students are invited to bring along a few $ for snacks if you’d like. Students can be dropped off/picked up from Lighthouse and we will carpool to the farm together.

October 13th from 12:00-4:30 pm – “The Thorn” Live Show in Milwaukee

Advertised as “Cirque meets the Passion of Jesus”, this unique touring performance offers a mix of music, drama, aerial acrobatics, dance, and visual effects as it tells the story of God’s love for the world. We will meet at Lighthouse and carpool to the Miller High Life Theater in Milwaukee for the 1:00 pm show. Students are asked to pay $10 and Lighthouse will cover the rest of your ticket cost. Parents, siblings (recommended age is 12+), and congregation members are welcome to join us, but you will be responsible for your own ticket cost. If you want to go and have not already reserved a ticket, please talk to Christin ASAP to see if we can still get you a ticket.

October 20th from 7:00-8:00 pm – “Lighthouse Life” Night

October 27th from 4:00-7:00 pm – Halloween Food Drive and Fun

Help the hungry in our community while enjoying Halloween at the same time! In this “Trick-or-Treat so Others Can Eat” event, students will be sent out in groups during Saukville’s trick-or-treating time to collect donations for the Ozaukee Food Alliance. Then we’ll meet back at Parkside UCC Church to sort the donations, eat dinner, and play some Halloween games together. Everyone is encouraged to dress up and we’ll have a costume contest as well.

*Drop off/pick up at Parkside Community UCC (166 W. Dekora St. in Saukville)

November 10th from 7:00-8:00 pm – Bonfire

Come enjoy a fall evening under the stars with a Lighthouse bonfire. Games, s’mores, and other snacks will be provided. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

November 17th from 7:00-8:00 pm – “Lighthouse Life Night”

November 24th from 6:00-7:30 pm – Friendsgiving Celebration

In the season of giving thanks, we are so thankful for all of the amazing students that make up Lighthouse! Join us for a night of celebrating one another as we gather for a goofy potluck-style meal together. This year’s theme is… bring a food that is your favorite color(s)!

Tuesday, December 3rd from 5:00-8:00 pm – Giving Tuesday Fundraiser

Please mark your calendars and save the date for our big, annual fundraising event! We will once again be holding a spaghetti supper and silent auction fundraiser, and we need your help to make it happen. Lighthouse youth and families can assist with tasks such as requesting auction items, advertising, serving food and cleaning up, and of course, attending the event and showing your support for Lighthouse! Lots more information on this will be coming soon!

*This event will be held at Parkside Community UCC Church (166 W. Dekora St. in Saukville).

Sunday, December 8th from 12:00-2:00 pm – “Gift a Child” Christmas Shopping

We are sponsoring 5 kids through the “Gift a Child” program with the Port Food Pantry. This program supports local families who may be struggling financially by helping to purchase Christmas gifts for their children. Join us as we go shopping to purchase these gifts for kids in need and help spread some Christmas cheer! Meet at Dairy Queen in Saukville for lunch at noon, and then we’ll head over to Walmart to shop.

Sunday, December 15th from 7:00-8:00 pm – “Lighthouse Life” Night and Christmas Party

All participants are asked to fill out a Lighthouse permission slip/medical form once a program year (aug. 2024-aug. 2025).

Click here for a copy of that form and please bring it with you to your first event or email to youth.director@lighthouseyouth.org
